WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING

The infrastructure or roads within our plant have been showing signs of extreme wear for far too long. Our roads exhibited rutting, ponding and potholes. Obviously we needed to replace the roads as soon as possible but we did not want to do so at the expense of our plant safety and productivity. Rollcon approached us with a unique solution, Roller Compacted Concrete Pavement (RCC). They were able to remove and replace 4,000,000 pounds of material, changing our roads from a short-term fix to a long-term solution. They accomplished this within our safety protocol and without a single hour of interruption to our daily productivity and within budget!

Our plant operations, maintenance and safety personnel were impressed with the removal of our old roads and continue to be impressed with the placement and performance of our new RCC pavement.

WHAT IS RCC?

Roller compacted concrete, or RCC, is so named because it is placed using high-density, specialized paving equipment, then compacted with rollers. RCC has the same essential ingredients as conventional concrete: cement, water, and aggregates. But unlike conventional concrete, it’s a drier mix that’s stiff enough to be compacted by vibratory rollers.

It was originally created to meet the demands of the logging industry, who needed an extra-tough paving solution to stand up to high traffic, heavy equipment, and huge loads while still being economical enough to be affordably placed over massive square footage. Today, RCC provides a premier paving option for clients and developments of all kinds.

RCC requires neither forms nor finishing, nor does it contain dowels or steel reinforcing. These characteristics make RCC simple, fast, and economical. RCC offers the same strength and performance of conventional concrete with the economy and simplicity of asphalt. Thanks to a long service life and minimal required maintenance, RCC saves our clients significant labor and money without compromising quality.
