This very congested railroad yard in Houston was expanded with a new gate facility and new loading pads constructed in existing paved areas. Rollcon provided more than half a million square feet of roller compacted concrete to the project.

Port of Mobile – APM Terminal CY3S

The Port of Mobile is the only deepwater port in the state of Alabama. The port authority selected Rollcon to execute two concrete projects for APM terminals totaling more than 50 acres of 18” roller compacted concrete pavement. RCC was chosen due to its superior, long-term durability. Rollcon had the expertise necessary to execute both projects around the port’s busy traffic schedule, preventing a complete shutdown and saving the terminal a great deal of money and lost labor.

Martin Midstream

Martin Midstream operates a crude oil facility in Corpus Christi, Texas 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Crude oil is brought in from the field via truck (approximately 100 tankers per day) and is offloaded to 100,000-gallon oil tanks. Rollcon was hired to install approximately 6,555 square yards of RCC at a thickness of eight inches in the unloading area of the crude oil facility. The facility was closed for installation of the RCC, so it was critical to complete the work quickly. Rollcon worked day and night to complete the work and get the facility operational again. Roller compacted concrete was selected for use based on the speed of construction, high early strength, and the surface durability.

Port Of Houston

Rollcon installed approximately 90,000 square yards of 14-inch RCC and approximately 20,000 square yards of 18-inch RCC at the Port of Houston’s Bayport Terminal Complex Entry/Exit Gate Facility. The facility serves as Bayport’s main entrance gate for all trucks entering the Bayport complex. RCC was selected based on Rollcon’s competitive pricing.

Kansas City Southern Intermodal Facility

Kansas City Southern operates an intermodal facility located in Wylie, Texas, which comprises 5,000 linear feet of intermodal track and 1,500 parking spaces. The facility includes approximately 53,086 square feet of seven-inch roller-compacted concrete and 460,676 square feet of 10-inch RCC. Kansas City Southern uses RCC for their intermodal facilities because of the speed of construction, high-early strength, and lower life cycle cost.

Port 10 Logistics Center

Port 10 Logistics Center is a state-of-the art logistics center featuring multi-modal capabilities for truck, rail, ship, and barge-served transport needs. The first phase consists of four buildings on a 100-acre site totaling 992,669 square feet. When complete, the project consists of eight buildings totaling more than three million square feet on 256 acres and includes more than two million square feet of seven-inch and nine-inch RCC pavement.

Rollcon delivered 2.5 miles of 40-inch wide, 14-inch dual-lift RCC pavement for infrastructure improvement. The project also included a seven-acre, 14-inch dual-lift dock for cargo unloading.
